Course Conditions

Post by Seasider47 »

Hi All

Whilst setting the conditions and pins for PG Classic at Muirfield I came accross an item in the Guardian. The Open 2013: Ian Poulter and Phil Mickelson rage at Muirfield course .

Reading it, I thought to myself that just sounds like some of our players here at PGLS, hope you read it and chuckle at the coments that sound so familiar. Its hard to please all at the same time, some want the conditions tough and testing whilst others feel they are too tough, we all do it. But course setters whether on a real course or a game course do try and consider how much or little it will affect the players

The standout point though Paul, is that NONE of the players mentioned are actually GIVING strokes to the course. I'm assuming this is what you were referring to?

Hi Archie

No when I saw this post I was not thinking of any one tournament just the game in general. The type of comments by the professional players were very simular to the type of things I would read on these forums it was just ammusing to read what was put. We all favour different courses and different conditions, I like a bit of a breeze, wilst others prefure calm conditions, I'm no fan of stimp 14 whilst others like it, its good that we differ.
