Round conditions

Post by bobfletch »

Can someone please explain to me the idea (if any) behind round conditions of Hard/Hard/8 stimp, as in PGA18 Round 3? I could perhaps understand conditions of Soft/Soft/8 stimp, but not the ones that have been set...

Isnt it just to mix things up? always having the same or similar settings means that players get used to them.....i for one like to see all options used

Remember. Its a game. Not true to life. Even though course designers try to make the courses as close as possible to the real thing, the conditions are in the minds of the person setting up the tourneys. Hard greens at 8 stimp is fantasy.
If it goes left, its a hook. If it goes right, its a slice. If it goes straight, its a miracle!

So the Course is in a drought and they aren't mowing the greens to prevent burnout. Therefore the fairways and green are hard as rocks and the greenskeeper doesn't mow and the greens are fuzzy slow!
