killing pgls

Post by terbal »

why join pgls and then just play solo? solo play is killing pgls just as it did wgtls. becoming pointless going into the m&g. maybe time for pgls,pg and myself to part company.

Most people dont have time to play a long drawn out match with others and Solo play is the most popular way to play so not getting all the gloom and doom. I have played mostly solo for years and have played a few matches with others and yes its enjoyable but just very time consuming and not my cup of tea. Sorry to see anybody leave but hey its your choice.

Like most games you best bet is to find a partner. CharlieB and I have played together for over 20 years, Links and JNPG. We try to play daily and that works most of the time. Maybe ask if someone wants to join the Pairs tournament with you?

I tried playing some multi-player about a year ago, but it was so laggy and I play RTSM, so it was just very difficult to score well. Certain members put the blame squarely at my end despite having no problems with other online/multiplayer games and applications. I would go to M&G looking for a game, and because of this, people didn't seem that keen to play with me. I can understand this to a point, but surely if you want people to play MP then be more accommodating when people try.

Terry, we've beaten this one to death over time, solo play will not cause the death of PGLS, only MP play is dying. Lots of people have jobs and playing in the evening most choose to play solo for a variety of reasons. I do enjoy an occasional mp game, but if the tournament numbers aren't going down, how is PGLS dying exactly? MP is cool for those that want to play it, but stop beating on the solo players, that's how we like it!
The scores may be unrealistic, or even a joke but heyho, that's what we got.

Play well and enjoy your game everyone! :drinks:

btw, not a game for snowflakes.

Are you saying that you can't get a PGLS tour game with another player? I find that hard to believe, you are part of the inner, hard core, PGLS M&G clique. Or, did something change?

Congrats on your promotion to pro.

I play solo because I play at a quick pace. I can see how others might like to play with an online friend and make it a social event. Once in awhile I will play a PGLS event through M&G.

solo play is just like the world and his dog who just stare at their mobile phones all day and never talk to another person. And i agree this is what the world is coming to conversation is dead. I do play with a regular in the morning (archie) we skype and have a lot of fun chatting. But during the day its hard to get a game as i hate solo play. when i play real golf i never go round on my own i always find someone to play with. golf is a social game. pgls like wgtls was a social site but not any more.
