PG 9 Tournament

Post by RobV »

Hello... I see the next PG9 tournament is Royal Liverpool, 3D grass version. I would tend to think that we are not allowed to play the non-3D grass version considering the course filename and the way the tournament is setup in PG, but whenever I play any 3DG based courses, my PC lags too much to even think about hitting the snap or quite frankly, even enjoying the round. I am not a designer, but would there be any difference in the way the 3DG "settings" for the rough is different from one version to the other? 3DG versions are really nice all, but in my opinion, using these courses could limit the amount of players to participate in tournaments due to PC specs, etc. Maybe I am wrong...

Overall, if I have to skip this tournament then so be it.. I just feel the more that participate the better and I cannot be the only player here that runs into this issue. Thanks!

I have an older rig, but plays most, if not all, non 3D grass courses just fine. I did not check FPS when playing, all I know is that it lags to hell.

All I really wanted to know is if we could use the non-3D course in its place so that I can participate in this event... if the answer is no, which I think it is, then not a big deal.. maybe I try a different event or wait until the next one is posted.

a big thing in the lagging with older rigs can be what you have your graphic settings if you are running shadows
turn them down to 0 and see if that helps in the lagging if you are not using the pause render on the swing turn it on.
vsync turn it off. those are just a few things that may help you. fiddle around with the settings till you find a happy space
if you are playing some of the 3dg courses i would bet your answer is all in the way you have your setting set.
just trying to help.

Hello RobV. Welcome to PGLS. :drinks:

Launch the game. Go to Settings/Graphics and then to Quality.

Uncheck everything but Antialiasing. Slide all quality bars to the left. You'll see the game just fine for tournaments and lag should be reduced dramatically.

Just like what you see in this screenshot.
