With 14 hours to go of the 1st round of the 1st Survivor and there is a lot of players sat on -1 currently qualifying for r2....but if 4 more people shoot -2 or better, all of them will miss out for this event...the clock is ticking!!

Some analysis of the 1st Round:

14 of the top 20 players (score power rankings) took their chance and 30 of the top 50. 13 players ranked outside the top 100 also chanced their hand...the highlights so far:

The top 50 players who didn't make the R1 cut were:

No doubt these players will be looking for a stronger finish next event.

7 players ranked outside the top 100 made the cut. These surprise packages of R1 to make the cut were:

25 players made the 2nd round cut.

Surprising exits:

The highest power ranked player to fall at the 2nd hurdle was stringb ranked13th, followed by scoops100 ranked 20th. 3 other top 30 players failed to make the cut though 2 didn't post a score (Stozza and Qbl_Falcon).

The lowest ranked players to make it to round 3 are:

altaedm - 97th
SimChars1968 - 89th
boxmaker111 - 73rd

In all, 7 players outside the PGLS top 50 made it through, can they get to the final round??

Onto round 4 and we are left with 11 runners.

Not much to report regarding round 3......ok, so 2 top 10 ranked players didn't make the cut, bobfletch just missed out and some guy called Affo failed spectacularly after a Tin Cup moment on the Par 5 9th hole...safely on the fairway in 1, sat on the safety score of -3....could I make the green in 2...of course I could...if I hit the snap, lol!! I didn't, went plink and got a 154m drop which I then also missed the snap and had to hole a 30m pitch to make the cut, wasn't happening. But that's what can happen when it's down to 1 round!

Of the 11 fighting it out, we have 4 of the top 10 ranked players left, but the surprise packages are:

These 2 are the last Pros standing too...who's going to win to get an early lead in Survivor??

if you had played half as well as you usually do Andy you would have got in to the final round. it then would have become a TP shoot out.

True, but that is why it is fun, I didn't play well and fell by the wayside. 2 Pros played well and made the top 10!! Anyone can play well or badly on any round. Not going to be the same 10 each time that is for sure.

Depends how defeatist you are or how optimistic.

I agree in part. but it is not about playing well in 1 round its playing well in 4 rounds. only the top guys play well consistantly over 4 rounds most players cant do that. personally i think some form of handicap system is needed. only my point of view not having a go at an event that could be really good.

i got to agree with Andy on this one, i think if you handicap an event like this
it would just not get much play. i believe it was a well thought out event and should just be left as is.
give's a person to reason to learn how to play more consistent. IMO

im not suggesting using the existing handicap system. i made a suggestion in an earlier post about given different levels different amount of times to play each round. the occational pro might get through to the last round but i cant see many ammys doing that in the future. i hope im wrong
