caldera lakeside

Post by davefv92c »

did the setter realize this was only a 9 hole course, and did they take the time to play it before putting it up?
I mean I had to download it again because it is just not a good course. not really a complaint just wondering
I did download it again so I and my partner can play it just curious.

well I went and played a round been a long time and I guess it is really not that bad
I guess the main reason I did not keep it was due to it only being 9 holes, there are a few strange greens
and some floating strange ob stakes. but I guess it is playable. but I was always under the impression that we used the same course for each round during the month of play. Seems the April tourney has finished is this one the start of May?

Dave,

The same course isn't used for the whole month. It tends to be front and back 9s of 2 courses then 9 holes of a third.

It was an interesting 9 holes. John and I had fun trying to navigate it with altitude and wind and hard greens to consider...but fun it was and different!
The scores may be unrealistic, or even a joke but heyho, that's what we got.

Play well and enjoy your game everyone! :drinks:

btw, not a game for snowflakes.

I agree... it ate our lunch, but was a bunch of fun due to the challenge. Good stuff.

Anyone else have low FPS on Caldera? Most courses run 60-100 FPS for me, but Caldera was 20-35 with a jittery meter on several shots. My partner had the same readings. I'm running a 1060 (waiting for my 3070) with an i7.

The reflective water had some weird stuff going on. The reflections were blocky and not stationary. Pause/render seemed like it kept it away from my meter though.

The good news for us is that we didn't have the water bug and we hit it in the water a bunch of times. On any other course me or my pard would have locked up and we would have been issued a penalty every time we left the game to get it to resume. It was really nice to not have that.

I have played the course a few times but with the Altitude of over 6000ft its difficult not to over shoot into the lake on large portion of holes. Hole 1 par 3 is a good example of this with a high tee and fareway running down to the lake side green theres a very good chance you'll end up in the lake lol.
decided not to use it in a comp.
