Live Play

Post by Seasider47 »

Hi All

I'm a big fan of golf simulations especially Perfect Golf which I've been playing for over a year now. I know Mark the owner of this site for over 5 years through the sister site of here WGTLS. Mark and his team have made great headways on the site with there many Tourneys you can join and play by yourself at any time, which include Pga 9,18,Stableford and PGLS Open.

But for me whay I enjoy the most is to play against another member on here, whether it be Pgls9, M9 or joining up to play a tourney. I love the banter and the challenge of playing against an opponant that you don't get in Solo play. I also enjoy team games where you play alternate shot 2x2.
Playing against or with another player allows you to study there style of play and often enables you to pick up a few tips.

At the moment live play on PGLS is proving hard to come by. I know how frustrating it is to enter the lobby anf find it empty, which is why I am trying to spend at much time as possible in the lounge, incase new members join and have questions or one of our members is looking for a game. But there is only so much time any one person can spend in the lobby hoping that someone might come in, Which is why I'm appealing for more members who like myself enjoy live play to spend some time in the lobby and not just log in then go off and have your tea lol or go off and play a game. but spend some time in there. I spend a lot of time with split screens doing work on my pc while I keep an eye on the lobby.

My vission of this site is that one day you will whenever you feel like it pop into PGLS lounge and find 3 or more players in there chatting or planning to play a game, it can happen if we want it to, if enough of us make the effort, then maybe we can extend things by holding Ryder Cups and other team games. So to the future and lets make that future: Live Play

I think one of the major reasons people play solo is due to how much time they can set aside to play MP rounds. I for one am on the computer for many hours each day and enjoy a quick 9 hole match with a few fast players. A little text chat during game play is fine for me. On the other side of MP rounds is the social player (like you) who would more enjoy the banter, text or voice during the round. That's something social players really look forward to during their online experience. So in effect, there are two camps on MP play. 1. Highly competitive 2. Social player

I think the biggest factor is the lack of players in general who just havent' discovered Perfect Golf yet or have machines that cannot play the game smoothly.

Somehow, Perfect Parallel needs to lure thousands of golfers away from the other golf games. Unlike the Links series which had over 150,000 owners around the world, Perfect Parallel needs at least 100,000 buyers to populate the communities and to make their efforts profitable. Maybe there is a plan for the future. We know they move slowly due to being a small company. We could be surprised by seeing banner ads on many sites we visit in the future....know one really knows for certain how they plan on enticing more golf players to Perfect Golf, I just hope it happens before any other major company releases a new PC/Console Golf Sim.
