The Famous Game Designer of This Game

Some times I would just like to shake the guy who designed this game...or I should say, half-designed this game. This happens over and over. Why would the game give me a PW for a 146 yard shot from the rough. I've heard players say, "it doesn't consider the rough, just the distance." Okay, what happened here? And, look at that, I have a 25% spin loss on a shot that will produce ZERO back-spin.

Sack your caddie, or use your own mind and experience to decide how to play in tricky situations. A human brain must be much sharper than the AI caddie?
If you have zero backspin, it means the rollout will be more than 0 yards if you hit the green.
EDIT - I am from Europe so I use meter system and not yards so I am not sure about the distance of the club you were handed by your caddie.

The caddie game me a PW, default 134 yards. Of course, I never go by what the caddie gives me, based on experience and my 29 years of playing online golf. Just so disappointed in the design of a game that could have been GREAT.
1. No option to take a drop for 'un-playable' lie.
2. Drop areas for shots in to lateral hazards is sometimes 150 + and ALWAYS in the rough with a HUGE power loss. Triple penalty.
2. Totally random power loss for the same lie. To prove it, play a best ball with someone and you will see the same shot from the rough has two different power loss percentages, many times as much as 10% difference.
3. With extremely rare exceptions, no back spin on full loft shots with irons after the 9 iron. Why can't I spin a 8, 7, 6, or 5 iron?

These are just four examples of how the game is half designed. Along with the silly information from the AI.

You would probably want someone with more knowledge than me to reply (if you want a reply) but I know the answer to nr 2. Mike Jones said in the PG forum when it was still alive many years ago that the randomness from rough was intended, as lies in rough are not exactly the same for two shots.

About the drop options, I believe the course designers have to take partial responsibility for errors. Although I did courses for other golf games, I never released any for PG bc some hard to understand things and drop zones was one of them. So it is perhaps too hard to get, but not impossible.

About back spin, as far as I know it does not help lofting shots to get back spin, they just roll less. To me the pros seem to hit it harder to get spin on the ball? I started playing real golf in my 40´s and that was + 20 years ago so I am on thin ice here... I once in a moon manage to get back spin with a short wedge, but I would not dream of getting it with my 5 iron. I just assumed the golfing pro Mike knew more than me about this, so didn´t give it any thoughts before.
