I had the following happen yesterday on a par 3 hole:
Tee shot stopped on the green.
2nd shot: Putt rolled past the hole, off the green and down a slope.
3rd shot: Pitch shot from well off the green went into the hole.
When I viewed the scorecard after the round, it said I had 0 chip-ins.
What happened here? That third shot was definitely a chip in. Is there a rule, or perhaps a bug in the scoring, that a shot can only count as a chip-in if there were zero putts on a hole? For that matter, does it count all strokes after the first putt as putts, regardless of where the ball ends up? An instance comes to mind where a putt that missed the hole rolled off the green and into a water hazard, and I had to drop and take a penalty stroke. It would seem especially odd if all of those strokes counted as putts. I've also had multiple instances where a putt from the fairway a couple of feet off the green went into the hole and was counted as a chip-in (doesn't matter that I was using my putter).

Any shot info eg putts, GIR’s etc are sent by the PG API to PGLS so we are.reliant on that to work out the totals.

Third shot was a pitch, not a chip. Does the game recognize the difference?
If it goes left, its a hook. If it goes right, its a slice. If it goes straight, its a miracle!

Re: Counting putts and chip-ins
In my experience, any shot from off the green into the hole is counted as a chip-in regardless of what club or shot type is used. At least that seems to be the case if no previous stroke was counted as a putt, which is the situation I was asking about in the original post.
Is there any way possible for players to see what is being sent via the API for their rounds (either in real time or after the round is concluded)?Mwh65 wrote: Thu Sep 30, 2021 8:11 am Any shot info eg putts, GIR’s etc are sent by the PG API to PGLS so we are.reliant on that to work out the totals.

The scorecard for each round details what is sent for shot breakdown above the scores. This info is sent per hole and is collated at the end of the round.

Okay, but is there a way to view the per-hole info?Mwh65 wrote: Fri Oct 01, 2021 11:52 am The scorecard for each round details what is sent for shot breakdown above the scores. This info is sent per hole and is collated at the end of the round.
