Motion Swing - Distance Charts

Post by charlie »

When I first began playing the motion swing I looked for distance charts. The only ones I could find related to the click swing. Those work well if you use the click swing because you just learn to stop the swing nearest the correct dot on the swing meter. When you use the motion swing, however, you have to pay attention to the line you are making with your mouse; so it is more difficult to watch the swing meter and your line simultaneously.

I thought there has to be a better way, so I decided to chart distances from where I place the cursor on the swing meter before I even start the swing. Those charts are attached for anyone who cares to use them. My distance charts do not require that you look at where the swing stops at any point. You merely position the cursor on the swing meter at the correct height and you should get the carry yardage shown in the charts if you make a good swing.

I created these while playing at the Pro level, so they may not be completely accurate for other levels. But I think they should be pretty close.

In any event, feel free to use them if they help you. And don't use them if they don't.

Some shots are denoted in yards, others in feet. This is explained so just read the charts and notes carefully. The charts provide data only for 9I thru 64W, but that covers all the short game. I think most people can determine about where their full shots on longer clubs will land. I still use the click putting chart because I find it works well enough for motion swing putting.

Hit em straight.
