Sunday Night Knock Out Tourney

It is good to see that more players are now joining the tourney and we have I think got a time or start the is ideal for many players. A big thanks to Biffa (Les) who provides this very important part to the social side of the club every week. It is presently perhaps the one event that brings players together to play one to one and to get to know each other.

I've been giving the Sunday knock out tourney some thought and would like to make a number of suggestions that may encourage more players to join.

Firstly I think it would help if sign up banner be put up much earlier in the week, suggest tuesday giving more notice of the game, course used etc. and if possible nearer the time of the tourney all players to recieve email reminding them that they have signed up and what course will be used (that way members can't use the excuse that they forgot

I would like also to see some kind of points system to be used leading to a leaderboard. Say one point for taking part, two points for getting through first round leading up to top ponts for the winner depending on how many rounds there are in the knockout. This would reward regular players who consitently progress in the Tourney without actually winning ( and could also introduce penalty points for player not showing or not having the correct course etc). At the end of the the year there could be a play off of the top players to decide a champion.

Great work, a very important game that hopefully can only get better.
