A Big Thank You

Post by Riddler »

I noticed that this week we don't have one round using realistic greens. I honestly can say that realistic greens are all but realistic. Seeing the ball move left or right out of no where is just not realistic. I do think the new cup physics made putting much more realistic, at least, realistic enough for me. I hope this wasn't just an oversight but a deliberate attempt to stay with perfect greens.

Hi fellas,

Yes, having reviewed play for a few weeks with the 'Realistic' green settings, I found that they were somewhat overdone. I can accept a ball moving perhaps half a ball's width from its desired line, but at times I saw results equating to somewhere between 6 and 12 inches. I feel the level of competition we want to promote means that the tracks we decide to play on should produce the fairest test of skill, and so, until there is a re-appraisal of just how realistic that setting actually is, I think we will stick with perfect greens in our main events.

This will not be a general rule across all events, as we have a future competition which falls into a category where other choices may be desirable. At some point in the near future, we will be launching Biffa's Tuff Stuff, where Les will be given freedom to be severe and downright devious with settings, locations, conditions and other factors. Call it 'survival of the most resilient'!

Cheers Mike, was noted by myself too and sigh of relief went up :)
The scores may be unrealistic, or even a joke but heyho, that's what we got.

Play well and enjoy your game everyone! :drinks:

btw, not a game for snowflakes.

Sounds great..... bring it on!

I like Challenges... maybe a Last Men Standing.... how about tough weekly rounds, where those that fail to score under X are CUT... next weekly round is only those remaining etc.... How many would make the final 4th week ?

That's not a bad idea except instead of making it weekly make the cut after each round and see who's left after round 4. :good: :flex:
This could get ugly :cheesy:
