clicking a button and having a stroke added
Granted, having auto-gimmies on has the same affect as turning gimmies off in that the gimmies button would never be used however I think having to putt out is more realistic.
Oh-k, I will say my peace and let this die. This is freaking computer golf game that is made up of people who sit in a chair and watch pixels change based on their mouse clicks (or real time swings). There is no comparing that to professional golfers on tour (or RL golf for that matter).

I think it is absolutely silly to say that no gimmies make it more realistic. I played golf 3 times a week before I could not do that anymore. I was not a professional. I just luv the game. Me and my buddies bet on just about every round and played as hard as we could AND we still had gimmies. Sometimes my knees were knocking cause I had more money on the hole than I thought I should - yet, we still honored gimmies (usually within the putter grip).

We are not pros here and I am tired of hearing the crap argument that we have to putt out an 8 inch putt to make it feel like we are on the real course and that it is realistic. In my opinion, that argument is just silly.

OK, I am done with my rant and I will let it die.

I mean you no disrespect Mark. I really do appreciate what you do to put all this weekly fun together.

wow you know i missed an easy putt myself today maybe 2 oh well it is just a game
no reason to rant over a missed putt get over it, we are all playing the same way.
and just leave the time thing alone. be so silly to have the time to play but not the time to make short putts.
which only take a few seconds. we do try and follow PGA rules here on the tourneys which do not include gimmies.
you can play all the MP you want with gimmies but the tourneys should be kept no gimmies. this is one of the reasons i do not play MP is due to the amount of games where they are left on i always think to myself damn people should learn how to putt it is a big part of the game.

Doesn't bother me either way. Hey just now on Augusta I had the following 7 Gimmies :
0, 2, 6, 10, 13, 9. 12 but at least I made them all. Also 3 in the 20 inch range.
Maybe I should learn to putt better = LOL

The issue as always is "I can't win".

If I had set all the tournies to "Auto-Gimmies" someone else would of said something.

Either way we no longer have to worry about the "Gimmies" button in-game.

Gimmies are meant to be given by an opponent not take one yourself.

I believe gimmies are just "another glitch" :hmmm: waiting to happen. My vote would be to disable them in all tournaments. :clapping:

one reasons gimmies were introduced was to speed up play which did help. but maybe if people set the post shot screen to a max of 3 seconds that would speed up play. i personally dont like gimmies and think they should be stopped. gimmies should only be used in match play and then it should be your opponent that does or dosent give it to you. i think on wgtls that was the case?
