Sorry but I'm going to be blunt here.

All of the tourney setters do a damn fine job here at PGLS, not helped by your constant moaning about what's been set. They will never win on whatever they set.

Seriously if you don't like a particular tournies conditions don't play it.

Flopwood The course sets the pins and distances all the setter does is pick a coursre.(he doesnt know what the holes are going to be like the designer decides all that, the only other thing a setter does is choose the conditions and as Affo as already said for they were very fair.

The setters have a difficult job as it is...But when players moan consistently with out knowing the fact it becomes almost impossible. our setters are very good I wish I could say the same about some of the new players

So, I'm a new player? You know, if you have an issue with something, and never say anything, how will anyone know? I'm not moaning. I'm pointing out the absurdity of the some of these tournaments. Affo would say ice covered fairways and ice covered greens are okay. I understand that. He never misses a snap. Apparently he never hits a perfect snap in to a green and he's hitting it short to bounce on a hard fairway to a hard green, and his always bounce straight ahead. When I do it, they take a left turn in to a bunker. So his opinion here is moot. It doesn't count because he doesn't experience (along with about 20 others) anything like a moaner such as me does. Even when I hit a perfect snap.

Don't get me started on designers. How do they get out beta with some of the unfinished stuff? Today, we were playing this new Fall Lakes, which is supposed to be real course. It it is, the designer has made his own design, because no member there would play a fairway shot on #2 that can't stay on the fairway. I hit a perfect snap to within a foot of the left side of the fairway, and it ran to the rough on the other side.

I wasn't aware about who sets up everything, thanks for letting me know. So, its not a tough job, just go through a course list, find a settings that YOU like, like strong breeze, hard/hard ans submit it? Easy cheezy?

No more experience based information from me, don't want to be called a moaner. Geez, you guys are thin skinned.

Hmm, was going to right some long winded reply, but meh...it would be moot. Moaners, sorry, not moaners gonna moan just how it is.

A couple comments here:

- Watch a real major golf event sometime. There are plenty examples of the best players in the world struggling to hold a certain fairway or green
- Sometimes it takes more than clicking the overhead and hitting a snap. Sometimes you have to play a fade or draw into said fairway to get to stay
- Sometimes coming into a tough green requires coming through the rough or fairway first (btw the same can be true for holding a fairway)
- Before getting upset about the current torunament, check the score board of previous tournament(s) and see if its all that far off.Also, consider weather or not its a major event. Majors should be more difficult.
- Don't knock the designers - they are giving you free courses to play. Sometimes courses don't get finished and it s pain, but it is what it is. Giving constructive criticism directly to the designer is the best way to handle it. If there is no response, then make a note about the course and don't play it again. There are over 300 to choose from.
- PGLS is free and people work really hard every week to set up weekly tournaments and events. I am honestly surprised that Mark and his volunteers continue to put up with all the bellyaching... I am glad they do though!

Your opinion was globally interpreted to be whining/moaning (English UK, US, CAN and AU). A suggestion: If you don't like a round's settings and finish a few holes, either stop playing that tourney on the next tee or return here to PGLS and remove the tourney from Participation until the next one. This is exactly what I do when a tourney gets under my skin. I remove my participation from that tourney so I won't see it in the Public Tourney room. Out of sight - no aggravation.
