Re: Mistwood woes
I would assume so, but no course designer has done this as of yet so it's an untested scenario. Got to be worth a shot I guess.NIBNOB wrote: Wed Feb 03, 2021 4:48 pm so designers could upload there source file? if theyre no longer going to amend issues and then some fixer could have a go.......

Re: Mistwood woes
it is a good idea Mark but I really doubt any of the designers would go for uploading their course files.
let alone getting people with the know-how of unity to fix them, I believe if they were going to go that far they would just
be building new courses. and as just trying to contact some of these designers to be an impossible task as for when I was just trying to get some of the unfinished course to be finished and brought out of beta I was unable to get even 1 of those designers to make contact with me.
the old designers have gotten the same attitude the Jones Boys have you have what you have live with it, as I really can't blame them after the way they were lied to about further progress on the game and teased with a PG2 that never seen the light of day.

Re: Mistwood woes
Everthing said and done, designers have a lot of time on their hands due the pandemic. If they have the urge to design a new course, I am sure they will. If not just for the community but for themselves - to have something to do that is fun for them.

Re: Mistwood woes
It's too bad some of the pins are planted where they are, as he's done a nice job with most of the other details. Looks like very wavy greens.

Re: Mistwood woes
here is another one go play the first round of this month open that course was never taken out of beta
by the designer, we took it out! it is a few years old and he has said many times he was going to finish it soon yet
he has never revisited it the greens are a mess on this course. to be honest, it should not be out of beta I am not sure who approved of it
but I don't believe it was myself besides the greens there are many areas on it where you get caught in a lie it takes a few shots to get out of
and should have been made hazards with drops.
here was my last post on PP asking to get these out of beta
I think the Ocean has never been finished, and should not be used in tourneys.
I looked through all the posts here when we were bringing courses out of beta
and I can find nothing about anyone testing it.

Re: Mistwood woes
It might be possible to add/change/remove pin positions by modifying the course's .description file, if you know enough about JSON and can work out the x/y/z positions of the pins in question. I haven't tried this and can't say for sure if it would work without also requiring changes to the accompanying .unity3d file.Mwh65 wrote: Wed Feb 03, 2021 5:02 pmI would assume so, but no course designer has done this as of yet so it's an untested scenario. Even so, there is still the matter of getting all PGLS participants of the course playing the same exact course. You might be able to make alterations to the .description file, but unless a good way can be found to insure everyone on PGLS is playing with it, we're pretty much stuck with what the course designer gave us.

Re: Mistwood woes
CharlieB and I played the B-9 today. There were a couple of pins that made for screwy green breaks but same for all. No more Mistwood after this round.
