I didn't try rebooting, but I did leave and restart the game. I also checked in Task Manager to make sure there wasn't anything running I'd forgotten about that was taking up a lot of CPU or memory.
After reading your reply (and noting that I have not rebooted the machine since playing the PGA18 round), I fired up PG and played a hole on each of two other courses I've played within the past week (Links at Bodega Harbour, and Royal Montreal (the current PGA 9 course)) and they played as usual without any of the choppiness or stuttering issues I was having on Congressional. Is Congressional a 3DG course? If so, that may have a lot to do with it.

my computer being pretty low-end for this game, it's not surprising if there are a few courses where this sort of thing might happen. It's probably not an issue for anyone with a proper gaming rig, but any others running minimal machines may experience similar issues.
