Kiawah Island course

Post by JMK59 »

The PG version of the Kiawah Island course (DPRoberts) is the only PG creation that doesn't use the correct hole routing. The front 9 is rotated 180 deg and placed at the top of the land plot, so the winds are opposite what they are on the real course.

Glad you pointed that out so I now have a great excuse for my lousy first round.

You did better than I. Fairway bunker on 18 grabbed 3 shots from me for a triple bogie.

What a roller coaster round !!

Birdies, bogeys, bunkers, bad shots, triple bogey, amazing pars from chip shots - had it all

Certainly going to be an interesting Major

Watched some of today's action - lots of bogies, then birdies. Just as you said.

It would have been nice if someone would have requested of the designer, in advance of this tournament, to finish the course. There are far few trees, and the most glaring omission of all; green side bunkers playing as a lie in the rough. It is what it is, but another BETA course for a tournament. Its a really good rendition, not counting the incorrect orientation of the layout, and it would be nice to play it as a finished course. As it is, ruins the immersion for me.

Perhaps the designer could give it to someone else to finish.

urgh, those greens
The scores may be unrealistic, or even a joke but heyho, that's what we got.

Play well and enjoy your game everyone! :drinks:

btw, not a game for snowflakes.

They really did seem to have all the bumps as seen on TV. Koepka seemed to find them all. :cheesy:

A difficult course but enjoyed flaying it. Story behind the course is we have had it in Beta for around 5 years and have tried to contact designer to complete it for a long time, seems he lost interest in working on it which was a shame because many enjoyed playing the course. Eventually it was agreed it was to good not to be used and put forward for release. I for one stand by that decision its a class course even with the odd fault.
