Just wondering how many people know or go by the rules for this tourney. I'm guessing its not played correctly.
Welcome to The Caincalaway Classic where you play 2 rounds of 18 holes with a twist ... You mustn't change the club you are given by your caddy. Unfortunately this cannot be forced by the Perfect Golf (PG) API so it is a matter of honour and down to the player to abide by this rule.

Re: Caincalaway Classic
Unfortunately that is the issue with this tourney and I can't do anything to force a player to use whatever club their caddie gives them.
I've added "Clubs used" to the scorecard which you can see when hovering over each of the scores, but sometimes that doesn't work correctly.

I would doubt that players would cheat in this tourney/format - to what end? There are no points awarded, no cash paid, no free drinks for a low score, no date with Beyonce, etc. - it's just a fun format and who really gives a shit if somebody cheats?

I'm with you. I could care less. These tournaments are fun to play with the same group of players since 2000. I was just wondering if anyone ever read the rules and seen this. I know I didn't. I'm sure I have played this tournament before and changed clubs. I just found out about it when I was playing with a friend of mine and he mentioned it. I would like to see how many players actually knew this rule before playing it.

If it goes left, its a hook. If it goes right, its a slice. If it goes straight, its a miracle!

Re: Caincalaway Classic
The point of this tournament is to see how stupid your AI caddy is. Just kidding. Really it is to see how you do with the club that is handed to you. I find that the biggest difference is when you are in the rough and when chipping. Why the caddy thinks a chip is better than a 70ft pitch. That one drives me crazy in real tournaments, when I forget to look and my 70ft pitch turns into a 20ft chip. Don't worry about standings, just have fun figuring out how to replace your caddy.

When my caddy screws up in other tournaments, like handing me "chip" for 70 footer, I fire the bastard and hand my bag to a chick in the crowd with big bazookas! That ensures that I check the club selection more attentively thereafter!
